Orion's Belt

APOD: 2009 February 10 - Orion s Belt Explanation: Alnitak, Alnilam, and Mintaka, are the bright bluish stars from east to west (left to right) along the diagonal in this gorgeous cosmic vista. Otherwise known as the Belt of Orion, these three blue supergiant stars are hotter and much more massive than the Sun. They lie about 1,500 light-years away, born of Orion's well-studied interstellar clouds. In fact, clouds of gas and dust adrift in this region have intriguing and some surprisingly familiar shapes, including the dark Horsehead Nebula and Flame Nebula near Alnitak at the lower left. The famous Orion Nebula itself lies off the bottom of this star field that covers about 4.5x3.5 degrees on the sky. This image was taken last month with a digital camera attached to a small telescope in Switzerland, and better matches human color perception than a more detailed composite taken over 15 years ago.

My gosh it's hot!!!

Not much happening here - lots of sleeping during the day and fussing at night. And it's so hot and sultry around here. You want to get out and do things but it's way to hot for a sane person to be outside unless it involves water... soon enough. I did have a bath today and if I'm lucky my dad might take me in my new pool...

I want to say thanks to my sister for the cd's... where's the metal?

We did go out for her birthday to Waterloo Icehouse over at the Hillcountry Galleria (aka Gerald's Mall) - it was kinda crappy and so I just slept the whole time.

When's fishing season?

Atticus Week 2

For my 2nd week birthday we went to mall. We went to buy my big sis a birthday gift. It's very hard to buy for her. She does not like fishing poles or guns or toy cars or anything a boy like me would love... also - My dad goofed up major and accidently deleted all the pictures of me at Victoria's Secret. Boobs everywhere!!! It was like heaven... my dad was uncomforatble though and so we had to go outside and watch the frenzy through the glass. Well, - my dad did. I was sleeping through the whole ordeal. It stinks a little bit in that store. Like girls.

Speaking of - I had my first date today with Amelia - Tom and Andrea are her parents. She's nice and very cute. This was the only picture my stupid dad saved. He's not completely worthless I guess. He's an apt reader.

Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett died today...

I'm still not sleeping at night like I'm supposed to. It's so much funner to wake everyone up. Maybe if mom and dad would just let me sleep in the bed everything would be better. I mean there are monsters under my crib and in my dark closet. Not even my dog seems to care.

20090622

Well,
11 days since birthday. There's been a lot of sleeping and eating and adjusting to life in "el campo". The weather has been excruciatingly hot. I bet it's very nice in Victoria BC right now. We've been out on a few outings but nothing major. First restaurant - Hyde Park - Dad had the Eggs Benedict and a Bloody Mary. Mom had a Belgian waffle and my sister had the Veggie plate with mac and cheese that tasted like bacon.

We went on our first walk:

There's me and my dog and a new friend from up the street.

We also went to the grocery store:

And then after I slept and ate and kept everyone up all night I saw that I am not the only starving child in the world:

So - hopefully I will be able to keep up with this and one day when Atticus learns to read and type and cuss at the innernet he'll be able see what we were up to.

It should make for a better story than the ones I grew up with... being born in Bakersfield and all... with the drinkin' and fightin' and workin' til all hours of the night...

It seems we have it so much easier. I guess I owe it to my folks.

A son is born!!! Week One

Well, here I am. A dad. An unbelievable turn of events. Atticus Orion Weaver was born on June 11, 2009 at 4:56 in the morning. 7lbs 6.9oz. 21 inches long.

and - there's pictures...

Lemme figure out how to blog and get stuff on the computer to go places...

OK - Let me start at the beginning...

Well - let's just say - it all started here:

or here:

Not 100% for sure... of course we were not totally expecting to be expecting, but that's how these things happen.

so - goes like this... Wednesday (the 10th) I was up late installing the carseat base in my truck for the big day (supposedly the 27th) and was going to take a half day on thursday to get my overnight case together.

At 1 am on Thursday the 11th Mom woke up and her water had broke so we quickly gatherd our things and headed to the hospital... 30 minutes and 4 or 5 missed deer later we arrived and began to get settled in. Trinity and Nate showed up with the musical selections (Michelle Shocked, Waylon & Willie, Merle, Bruce etc.)

We had no more settled when it became obvious that Atticus was not going to wait. What a miricle to watch.

I love you all.
