12lb 6oz
This morning, my mom called the doctor because my diaper rash is not letting up. It all started with a glass of lemonade to celebrate my sister's birthday. Sadly, I was not able to see my beloved dr and I was forced to see the frosty doctor with leathery hands. The nurse was able to confirm that I am a big baby! 12lb 6oz. The highlight of my doctor's visit was when the doctor asked about my pee and I was able to make the biggest one ever to show her. It was like when you hold a garden hose up in the air and it arcs and sprays everywhere. I got three of the walls, all of the chairs etc. It was my grandest pee ever!

six week birthday
On Thursday, my six week birthday, we woke up to yet another water outage. Happy birthday to me. Stupid Sam. It is very hard to keep an infant clean without water. We got annoyed so we decided to set out. We met my dad for lunch at Hyde Park and then visited the baby store. I did NOT sleep through lunch, if you could believe it! Here is me at lunch. I am hollering about the water. I knew that this water outage would mean that I would have to miss my beloved bedtime bath. Speaking of bedtime, I have had two milestones in my sleeping career this week. 1) My mom set me down on Friday so I could chat with my baby friend in the mirror and I put myself to sleep - quite by accident. 2) On Saturday, I slept from midnight until just before 5:00am. The baby books consider that to be sleeping through the night. I don't know if I qualify as sleeping through the night though since I spent the entire night sleeping on my mom. We have had some bad nights this week since I am way gassy. I don't know what my mom is eating to make me so gassy but she keeps cutting different foods from her diet and there aint much left.
weeks 5 and 6
I have had a pretty busy week (as usual).
Here is a photo with me visiting with my sister. I have been lucky enough to visit with her several times this week. On Friday, she came over and helped me get my clothes organized . . . even though I would prefer NOT to wear clothes. I have outgrown all of my newborn clothes and some of my 0-3 months clothes so we have started on the 3-6 months size now. I don't know how I got so big. Some people worried that I would be a runt since my mom was vegetarian during her pregnancy and some people also seem misinformed that breastfed babies are frail. I am HUGE but a healthy kind of huge.

great grandmother's birthday
July 20 was my great grandmother's 85th birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Just in time for her birthday, she is learning how to use the computer. Here is a picture of my great grandmother when she visited Austin for my babyshower. She went to the baby store with my mom, my grandmother, and my sister. My sister was trying desperately to convince my mom to purchase this cute diaper bag that matches SO perfectly with my stroller and it just happened to fall off the shelf onto my great grandmother's head! My mom should have realized it was like a sign from god and bought the bag but she didn't. My great grandmother did buy us a lot of nice things (she spoiled us) . . . including my crib that I will someday sleep in.
It has still been unbearably hot here. Yesterday, though, it was only 95 degrees so we had lunch with my sister on the patio at Whole Foods. I mostly slept through lunch but I did get to see some birds splashing around in the stream. It's funny how 95 seems cool when you are accustomed to 108 degree days. I like Whole Foods so much better than HEB. I get very mad when I have to go to HEB because it is gross to see big fat americans strolling through the store overloading their carts with Lean Cuisine, diet soda, cookies, and chips. The produce at HEB is of terrible quality too and the milk shelf stinks like cat pee.
On Sunday, I made my first giggle. The blue elephant that is attached to my bassinet can be funny when I am in the right kind of mood. Sometimes in the day now I will go in my bassinet to play by myself. I like my mirror (and the cute chatty little baby who lives in it). I peed on my mirror today. oops. By 11:00 this morning, I filled up the washing machine with dirty clothes and bedding.
In other exciting news, I got a rocking chair last night. A family from my sister's Waldorf school loaned it to us. He delivered it to our house late last night so I tried it out today and I like it! It will be perfect for reading Corduroy over and over and over again.
Happy birthday grandma!

Atticus 1 Month
Ok- here I am - One month old now. It's a tough life being a baby. It's like you have to cry for everything these days. Well, let's see - I went to the Dr. this week cause I had a goopy eye, but everything turned out to be nothing, I weigh 10 lbs 3 oz. now - that would be about 5 or so kilos for my Grandma in Canada...
Here's me at 4 weeks:
The next day I went to dad's work and met the ladies. They're cute. Here's a picture of Lana and Sylvia:
And also - I met a friend on the internet - Luka. He's real cool. He likes to sleep a lot too. He lives right up the street from me. He's 5 days older. We partied last night - way past bedtime. Rock and Roll!!!

If I could have more mommies...
Here's some stuff my Mommy wanted me to put too:
June 30 Dr. Visit: I weighed 7lbs and 13oz, I was 22.75" long and it was my first solo outing with Mom. (Dad met us at the Dr's office.) We also made a sidetrip to Jamba Juice and my mom should have known better than to get something citrusy... now I've got a rash on my bum!!! We also had a short visit with sis. She should come visit more often.
Here's me at the Dr's office:
My dog and I are getting very close too.
The other day during the stormy my crybabydog had to cuddle up to keep from being swept away to Kansas or worse yet - Oklahoma. At least it cooled down for the day.
Also - took my first trip to Whole Foods
Well - gotta go now - mom's going to the Dr. again and it's time for my daytime (all day) nap.
Oh yeah - one more thing... My dad is teaching me to swim already:
