July 20 was my great grandmother's 85th birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Just in time for her birthday, she is learning how to use the computer. Here is a picture of my great grandmother when she visited Austin for my babyshower. She went to the baby store with my mom, my grandmother, and my sister. My sister was trying desperately to convince my mom to purchase this cute diaper bag that matches SO perfectly with my stroller and it just happened to fall off the shelf onto my great grandmother's head! My mom should have realized it was like a sign from god and bought the bag but she didn't. My great grandmother did buy us a lot of nice things (she spoiled us) . . . including my crib that I will someday sleep in.
It has still been unbearably hot here. Yesterday, though, it was only 95 degrees so we had lunch with my sister on the patio at Whole Foods. I mostly slept through lunch but I did get to see some birds splashing around in the stream. It's funny how 95 seems cool when you are accustomed to 108 degree days. I like Whole Foods so much better than HEB. I get very mad when I have to go to HEB because it is gross to see big fat americans strolling through the store overloading their carts with Lean Cuisine, diet soda, cookies, and chips. The produce at HEB is of terrible quality too and the milk shelf stinks like cat pee.
On Sunday, I made my first giggle. The blue elephant that is attached to my bassinet can be funny when I am in the right kind of mood. Sometimes in the day now I will go in my bassinet to play by myself. I like my mirror (and the cute chatty little baby who lives in it). I peed on my mirror today. oops. By 11:00 this morning, I filled up the washing machine with dirty clothes and bedding.
In other exciting news, I got a rocking chair last night. A family from my sister's Waldorf school loaned it to us. He delivered it to our house late last night so I tried it out today and I like it! It will be perfect for reading Corduroy over and over and over again.
Happy birthday grandma!
Keep up the great work Atticus. You will have your parents trained in no time. Hope the cute baby in the mirror laughed when you peed on him. Grandma
