November 3 was election day and I dutifully went to the polls with my parents. It wasn't an exciting election this time (no people to vote for). We voted on a variety of constitutional amendments that were mostly schemed up by crooked Republicans. We had to decide, for example, if we want our property to be taxed at its fullest potential as if a $20 million amusement park was in the front yard. I have no photos from election day. Oddly, you can take your guns to vote but not your camera. Don't even get me started about guns.
This week, there was yet another mass shooting. Seems that easy access to guns is a REALLY really really bad idea . . . and even worse when coupled with bullying/harrassment. Actually, there were two mass shootings this week but one kind of went unnoticed given the severity of the first.
Since I have no photos of cute me on election day, I have included two photos from my mom's trip to Denver. In one photo, you can see Obama just as he is about to take the stage to accept the Democratic nomination. The other is of the crowd from Invesco field (with Al Sharpton!). My dad went to Denver too but he caught the plane home the morning of the speech; not only did he miss Obama's speech but he also missed Stevie Wonder's performance.
That is all for now. I have been busy (as usual) and I need to catch up on my vacation stories. My newest activity is going to the library on Saturdays. And that means that I read more than ever before.
