Now that we have that out of the way, I can tell you about my new shoes. I recently had a growth spurt thanks to the 1000 or more peas I have been eating at every meal of every day for the past week. Suddenly, my shoes were getting too snug. So we went to Nordstrom this afternoon, dreading the shoe-buying experience. Last time I went to Nordstrom, I was served by a gruff fellow named Simon Bloodbath (perfect name for a guy like him) and I did not do well and I grouched up; in fact, he sold me shoes that did not even fit so my mom had to return them! I much prefer the pretty ladies with silky long hair. Today, I lucked out because Simon Bloodbath practically ran the other way when he saw me coming so I was helped by . . . I don't even know her name but I am in love. She sized my feet over by the fish tank and let me take my sweet time trying shoes and looking around. I also bought some slippers because I hate it when I run around in bare feet and I get kibbles. My parents sweep frequently but the kibbles cannot be avoided with two cats, one dog, a gravel walkway, and ME! My slippers have firetrucks on them.
The woman who helped me today said she couldn't believe that I could ever be grouchy when buying shoes. She gave me a balloon and said I should be a model for Nordstrom. I guess she is in love with me too. I was pretty cute today in my pirate sweater and I was a perfect gentleman. I have been practicing my manners and have perfected please, thank you, excuse me, and yes sir. I also say "much" which is short for thank you very much.
