happy national pancake day

Today we celebrated national pancake day. The holiday arrived just in time as I had eaten through gallons upon gallons of the potato cheddar soup that my mom made on Sunday to last us the week. all gone.

For dinner, my mom made blueberry pancakes (my favorite) and my dad made scrambled eggs with spinach (another favorite). It was the perfect meal to honor such an important holiday.
At the end of every meal, we put our food into a bowl to give to the deer. I saved my last bite of pancakes and announced "deer." Some people frown upon the practice of feeding the deer. When you see them standing outside your window all day every day, they become your friends and you know when the land is too dry to nourish them. We only feed them a healthy vegetarian diet of organic foods. If it is good enough for me, it is good enough for the deer.

Tomorrow is Texas Independence Day. (Who cares?) We have many important days in March, including Big Bird's birthday on March 20; that is also Jensen's birthday and my dad's too. My mom possibly shares her birthday with potato chip day.
